Pinky's Ribbon Cutting, Wickford

15 September 2007

Aisleyne arrived at about 11:10am and went straight into the shop to do her stuff as both Suze and I waited outside.

She came out after about 5 minutes and she immediately came over to us and said “hi” and introduced us to her friends, who I have to say are as nice as her. I gave her the guitar, which she is going to auction for Brain Trust UK, immediately, which we put in the shop. She seemed to like the look of it and said she wouldn’t mind it for herself and might put a bid in for it.

Just like others have said before when they have met her, she immediately makes you feel like a friend rather than a fan, a point made more so because you became involved in discussions like you would do if you were talking to a friend rather than someone you had never met before. She and her friends were great company, they only thing almost ruining it was my sad ability to refer to things she had said and when and where she had said them to such an extent that it seemed I knew more about her than she did and I’m sure if she had a panic button nearby she would have pressed it..... lol. Not only did she put up with my inane ramblings, she even did a great impression of someone who was interested in it (Surely those acting roles will flood in).

I can say without a shadow of doubt that everything everyone who has met her so far has said about her is true. We spent over 2 hours in her and her friend’s delightful company and at no stage did we feel as if we were imposing.

Eventually and sadly Suzette and I decided that we were taking up too much of her time and decided to leave, although when we had said we didn’t want to monopolise her earlier she made it plain that it was no problem at all, and when she had to do something or speak to others, she did it. So we have a few pics taken and said our goodbyes.

I think the best thing about Aisleyne is her down to earth attitude and how she makes you feel like a friend rather than a fan. As with others who have met her, it’s never a “quick hello, thank you for being a fan and goodbye”, she makes you feel as if you are the most important person there. I’ve mentioned the word “friend” a few times now but that’s because it’s exactly how she makes you feel.

So thanks for the time you gave to us Aisleyne along with your great friends. I look forward to the next time.

Bradley
