Charity Event - Farmers Arms, Preston

The Friends of Higher Walton, a caring and enthusiastic group of locals, including the landlord of the Farmers Arms, pub regulars and others in the community had spent many months in all sorts of efforts to raise funds for the hospice. Aisleyne's main task of the evening was to present the cheque.

Before the formalities, though, there was a lot of more fundraising fun to be had, and as we know, Aisleyne is always ready to party. So it didn't take long for her to make herself right at home with the locals and join in the proceedings. As well as being dancing the evening away, she joined in the karaoke, including a memorable duet with Sophie Gaffney, one of her keenest fans who had travelled down the M6 to meet her. It is clear from the photographic evidence, though, that Ash was also making a lot of new fans as the evening progressed.

That wasn't to be her only vocal contribution, for when the featured band Fatty and the Boom Booms did their set, Aisleyne joined them in the rendition of an Oasis number.

Then, to demonstrate her total versatility, Aisleyne also delighted everyone when she took a turn behind the bar, and demonstrated a suspiciously adept hand at pulling pints and serving measures of spirits. Your autobiography didn't mention any barmaiding experiences, Aisleyne! One wag has suggested that Ash was actually auditioning for a role behind the bar at the Rover's Return, the Woolpack or the Queen Vic!

Finally it was time for Aisleyne to present a cheque for £2606 to Councillor Barrie Yates, Mayor of South Ribble who gratefully accepted on behalf of the hospice.

London Girl Aisleyne loved her Lancashire night out and discovered it most certainly WASN'T "grim oop North" - not in the Farmer's Arms anyway!
