Stand Up Aisleyne!

It was a first for Aisleyne on the evening of Monday 17th October when she tried her hand at stand-up comedy.

The opportunity had come about when she appeared on BBBOTS with Patrick Monahan, winner of ITV's "Show Me The Funny".

Patrick was about to commence a series of Monday night shows at Storm Nightclub, Leicester Square, "an interactive, laugh-a-minute show of stand-up mixed with games for singles and couples and special mystery celebrity guests". He was clearly impressed with Aisleyne to ask her to fulfil the celebrity guest role for his inaugural show on 17th October.

In the event Aisleyne was onstage with Patrick from 8.30pm for two hours of stand-up, audience participation and general banter, with Aisleyne co-hosting the gameshow segments. Patrick's style is highly spontaneous and interactive, and Aisleyne had had no rehearsal time, so it was all a bit "dangerous".

Happily, however, the evening was a huge success. The club was packed and the audience was left calling for more at the end of the show. The club (who pay the fee!) want to book Aisleyne again, and Patrick personally gave Aisleyne a bottle of champagne. All went so well that even the fact that Aisleyne found that her Merc had picked up a parking ticket afterwards couldn't spoil the evening.

After the show she tweeted "Had so much fun doing my 1st stand up gig at least my comedy is on point even though my love life never is!"
