Aisleyne topped off her latest stay in Ireland by serving as one of the judges of the "Miss Universe Ireland" Beauty Pageant, which was held before an excited audience in the famous ballroom of the Burlington Hotel, Dublin on Friday June 10th.

The winner of this prestigious competion will compete for the Miss Universe title in Sao Paulo, Brazil in September, so there was a lot at stake for the contestants and a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of the judging panel, which had a very strong "Celebrity Salon" look. As well as Aisleyne, there were her fellow contestants Georgia Salpa and (former Miss World) Rosanna Davison, plus Pippa O'Connor who was in last year's series. Also, the evening was co-hosted by CS2's Alan Hughes.

On such a glamorous occasion and amidst such a dazzling array of beauty, Aisleyne pulled out all the stops and in the words of one press observer "dressed to impress" in a short, but not too short, white evening dress, hair long and loose, and plenty of jewellery on display.

Interviewed before the contest by Lisa Cannon of TV3's Xpose programme Aisleyne advised the contestants "Just be yourself. Don't try to be something you're not", and warned that she would be asking them "some political questions".

After a number of different rounds and some tough decisions by the judges, the contest was finally won by 19-year-old Aoife Hannon (Miss Spin South West), from Listowel, a former University of Limerick student, who received her tiara from last year's winner Rozanna Purcell to great acclamation.

Aisleyne said "I felt so honoured to be asked to do such an important job. I know that Aoife will do really well for Ireland when she goes to Brazil".

With the contest over, Aisleyne, her fellow judges and other VIPs continued the festivities into the early hours at the afterparty at Buck Whaley's on Leeson Street.

Aisleyne spent Saturday "recovering" from the celebrations, and flew home to the UK on Sunday.
