Location: Edgware, Middlesex | I've been watching some live streaming from last night and I have to say I'm feeling more sympathetic towards Charley at the moment. I really disliked her to start but she seemed genuinely upset that she's been upsetting people and was asking people to tell her what they didn't like about her so that she could try to change it. Shabnam was very much in the line of "who cares what those air-heads think" (which just reinforces my dislike of Shabnam) but Charley seemed to be really upset and willing to work at it.
Of course there's always the little nagging voice saying she's just doing it so she won't get nominated and so she knows what to work on to win over the public but it looked pretty genuine to me

Location: Edgware, Middlesex | Well, it's not like she's become my favourite housemate or anything. I'm impressed that she's willing to change and, apparently, she's been doing pretty well over the last day or so - making a real effort to be nicer to people.
Still, you really shouldn't need to be told to be respectful of other people's feelings. It should be natural.
I would say that she is no longer my least favourite housemate but I wouldn't be upset if she got nominated

| Not you as well Rachel. You're as bad as that shower on DS comparing that apparently bitchy, gobby Charley to our lovely Aisleyne.
I suppose Ash did react to hearing the chanting. It was your beloved Miss Adams Short who I remember saying in the Diary Room that she didn't understand why "they choose to boo me". |

Unless it's gone downhill just recently, boldjohn, I thought that Charley/Aisleyne thread was generally going quite well (apart from the fallacy in the OP), with most people (even some non-fans of Ash) dismissing any resemblance. That thread does show once again that Aisleyne is firmly established as one of the all-time big characters in the BB pantheon.
Back on topic, I suspect that if pushed into a tight corner, Aisleyne could out-Charley Charley in a VERY big way indeed. But unlike Ash, Charley seems utterly devoid of charm; smarm maybe, but definitely zero charm. |

I read the opening few posts at work today ofni. I recall a few comments about about Aisleyne acting black and Charley being black - all very sad. I'm glad to hear the cavalry came to the rescue. |

| In all honestly I've warmed to Charley more than I have Chanelle. Neither are particularly likeable people but I feel that with Charley what you see is what you get. She and Shabnam spoke a lot of sense the other night - they seem to have scheming, manipulative Chanelle sussed. It is only a matter of time before Chanelle's facade disappears because I truly believe she is being the most false and insincere at the moment. |

I have never understood why people think "what you see is what you get" makes someone a good person. It all depends on what you see!
I see very little good about Charley and a lot of good in Chanelle.

| No don't get me wrong - I'm not condoning Charley's behaviour and I am sick to death of people justifying their aggressive, confrontational, nasty behaviour with excuses like "I'm saying it how it is" and "I call a spade a spade" and "I'm just being upfront."
My point is Chanelle is being portrayed as very sweet and innocent but having watched her on live feed I find her very false indeed. She is slipping under the radar because of Charley. |

I've watched her on live feed as well. I've seen acts of kindness and consideration and respect for the older housemates. I've laughed at her humour in the diary room, I've heard self-deprecation and humility and a lot of sense. She's not arrogant like Shabnam and Charley, she's not confrontational, she's not depressing or bossy like Nikki, she's not unsympathetic like Tracey or mean-spirited and judgemental like Laura. She is, in fact, pretty much the embodiment of everything Ziggy said he looked for in a girl so I really don't understand the need for cynicism here. Why wouldn't it be real affection?
Opinion about her motives is just speculation. There was enough of that last year over Aisleyne. I always say you should judge people on what they do - not on why you think they do it...

Umm... Grace and Mikey are getting married and Saskia and Max bought a house together and lived with each other for a year before breaking up (without ever trying to capitalize on the relationship in the magazines)
Not really a good recommendation on your gut feelings there
Still, you're an Aisleyne fan so I guess your gut must be right sometimes

| I wasn't referring to Chanelle's relationship with Ziggy as such. I was making reference to her character. Grace, Adele and Saskia all started well but turned out to be bad eggs!
I have to say though, I've completely gone off Charley following banana-gate. I can't wait to see the back of her.

Yes, the crowds chanted "Aisleyne Out" pretty much every week following the house next door eviction right up until the final. Which just goes to show that housemates should know better than to pay any attention to the crowds. They don't always speak for the public at large

Ok, fair enough. Although I should point out that, after Aisleyne, Saskia is actually my favourite housemate of all time and she and Aisleyne are now friends!
