"Presenting Dermot O'Leary" is a recently published biography of Dermot written by Neil Simpson.
Chapter 12 is entitled "Celebrities - and Housemates" and covers Dermot's association with Big Brother. On Page 164 it says this:
Sex appeal apart, what grips Dermot most about the shows are the housemates who go on the longest personal journeys in the house. Model turned author Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace from Big Brother 7 in 2006, who entered the house late, fought back against the bullies and ended the year as the best-ranked female in the house, is a key example. "It's incredible to watch people learn more about themselves as the weeks go by," he says. "It's particularly moving when people learn that they are better than they had thought or can do more than they had realised. The best of Big Brother can empower people. It can give them the strength and confidence to be who they really are and change their lives for the better."

(I especially like the "model turned author" bit.
