Spin 1038FM Dublin26 February 2008 Her interviewer Rory was clearly a longstanding Aisleyne fan, as his recall of events during Big Brother seemed at times to be better than Aisleyne's (you were on Big Brother SEVEN, Ash!). He referred to her several times as "iconic", and who are we to argue with that? Aisleyne began by stressing that she had had a significant input to designing and launching her fashion range "Unique by Aisleyne, saying "I've studied fashion, I'm not a fraud." She recounted how the partnership with Unique Collections had come about, starting with her having worn many of their dresses, without really being aware of the label; they had approached her initially to be the "face" of the brand, and this had now developed into a closer active collaboration. This would be a continuous process with further seasonal collections to be designed and launched. Rory asked about where the range could be bought, and Aisleyne replied that they would shortly be on Asos.com; other Irish retail outlets would emerge in the outcome from deals done at the Futura Fair. Aisleyne expressed a hope to emulate Kate Moss by selling through Topshop! Rory was sure we were "going to see it everywhere". After some quick fashion advice ("you've got to feel comfortable to be sexy"), Aisleyne then fielded some questions about Big Brother, agreeing with Rory that "her" Big Brother was the last good one, with subsequent housemates being generally too "media-savvy" which had hindered more interesting interactions. Rory revealed a detailed awareness of Aisleyne's key moments in BB7 and took her through the interaction with Sezer about bullying, the water throwing, and of course the legendary "know yourself". He recalled her "journey" from ghetto princess to a "strong female character". Aisleyne spoke of how she thought she was Public Enemy No 1 who might last a couple of weeks before getting kicked out, and recalled her amazement at her massive fanbase who, she said, still keep her "doing well and doing right" Questioned about her realistic attitude to "celebrity", compared to some other "wannabes" Aisleyne said that it was her "Irish guilt" which kept her humble. Finally, Aisleyne spoke of her mother's Irish roots, with the Horgan name coming from Limerick. She has many cousins in Cork, and she was hoping to see to see her uncle whilst in Dublin. She concluded by saying she felt more Irish than English, which certainly seems to confirm that she has more than a bit of the blarney about her...
