Nuts TV

29 March 2008

"Aisleyne - She's in fashion" said the caption, quite accurately, as Aisleyne appeared as the guest on Nuts TV Live on March 6th.

Looking dazzling in one of her "Unique by Aisleyne" dresses ( the polo-neck version of "Kylie" in coral), her hosts OJ and Naomi, reeled off just a few aspects of her varied cv, and were clearly impressed by her many achievements since leaving the Big Brother house (that's BB7 - SEVEN! Right everyone?)

Aisleyne again stressed her active involvement in developing the range. She spoke of her time at Fashion College, of how fashion was in her blood, and how she grew up in an environment of fabrics and designs, when her mum was styling for big names such as Boy George and Poly Styrene. "The fashion industry is where I belong" she said.

Inevitably there were questions about Big Brother, with OJ homing in on "Watergate", Grace, Susie and the rest. Aisleyne said that she was still in friends with Imogen, Pete and Glyn, among others
.
You've come such a long way, said Naomi, referring again to all the different things that she had done since BB7, as conversation then turned to her TV show "Aisleyne". "Cunning name" said OJ - "It's brandin', baby, brandin'" replied Aisleyne. They showed the title sequence, and then talked about the programme's content which Aisleyne said showed "the real me, warts and all".

This part of her guest appearance concluded with a celebrity nose quiz (You better Nose Yourself?) in which Aisleyne acquitted herself fairly well - shall we say she won "by a nose"?

Later in the evening, Aisleyne faced Connor the Aussie Barman, who has been known to give guests rather a torrid time. However, on this occasion he introduced the "beautiful, delectable Aisleyne" and his approach was limited to what might be described as "mild wind-up".

After some banter about the Celebrity Nose awards, Connor said that he had been "reading" Aisleyne's calendar (he was "stuck on March"). Aisleyne revealed that her next year's calendar was going to be more "covered up".

Connor said the calendar was very tastefully done, but he affected to have been put off slightly by the "sweatiness" of some of the pictures. Aisleyne undertook to get some airbrushing done to provide with him a special "dry" version.

Aisleyne then offered to cover for him behind the bar for the 6 to 9 shift, and complimented Connor on his "Irish name". And with a final little mention of her new fashion range, Aisleyne's "Ordeal by Connor" came to a satisfactory conclusion.

It's worth noting that the brief clip of Aisleyne's appearance which Nuts TV added to their YouTube library reached over 20,000 views in its first two weeks, making it very quickly one of their most-viewed items.
