Waiting for Mandela

29 October 2009

The tables were turned" on Aisleyne and other stars at the Meat & Wine Company at Westfield Centre's South Terrace on October 29th, when they became celebrity waiters at a fundraising dinner on behalf of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund.

With a long brown apron covering her outfit of black trousers, sleeveless red gingham blouse, and red shoes (plus a new, nifty hair design with quiff), Aisleyne was accompanied by a real waiter as she ensured guests enjoyed their meal.

Guests were also entertained by The X Factor’s Miss Fitz and 2005 runner-up, Andy Abraham (who, Aisleyne says, gave a really good performance) as well as Tom Clay, an up-and-coming solo artist.

Other celebs joining Aisleyne on waiting duty included her BB7 rival Nikki Grahame, A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman and Danny Foster (ex-Hearsay) who was there with his girlfriend - "a really nice couple" said Aisleyne.

But the celeb waitress who Aisleyne was most excited to meet again was comedian Jocelyn Jee Esien - "I LOVED her in Three Non-Blondes" enthused our very own blonde.

The event also included a charity auction, and overall the evening was a great success with lots of funds raised for a very worthy cause.
