Brooker's Book Launch18 November 2009 Like his previous book "The Dawn of the Dumb" this new work is another anthology of his Guardian columns and articles. And that means of course that Aisleyne makes another appearance or two on its pages, principally in an "Interlude" between chapters given over to that legendary USA road trip Charlie, Aisleyne and others enjoyed together in 2008. Which gives rise to this slightly alarming entry in the new book's index: "Horgan-Wallace, Aisleyne, 237; Aisleyne was very much on the tonic-water wagon for the event, because of an important engagement next day, which also meant that she had to leave quite early. Other guests included Victoria Coren, Chris Morris and David Mitchell, as well as someone who Aisleyne was particularly delighted to see there, as she reported next day on Twitter, "VERY PROUD of Mr Charlie Brooker, went to his book launch last night & met, wait for it....GRACE DENT!! Tried to act cool but was SO excited" Charlie had been particularly concerned that the event should be paparazzi-free, so, like the book, there are no pictures. This meant that, even though Aisleyne, Charlie and Grace Dent were under the same roof, the overlapping membership of their respective cult followings were sadly denied their "Holy Grail" of a photograph of the three of them together.
