Celebrity Salon 2 Update

Aisleyne completed filming of Celebrity Salon 2 in Dublin on April 16th and after attending the wrap party she returned briefly to the UK prior to flying off to the US for an extended Easter break.

Production company Straywave are now editing two weeks of fly-on-the-wall filming into a 6 episode series.

Everyone's lips are pretty much sealed as to what went on. However, during that fortnight we did spot just a few leaks, tweets and pap pics which have whetted our appetites for the "main event" when it finally hits the screen.

Aisleyne, her fellow contestants and the production staff do seem to have generally bonded well, and it appears to have been a happy, if hectic, time for them all. Doubtless, any dramas, traumas and confrontations which may have taken place will appear in "the final cut". After all, NONE of the contestants (Aisleyne included) strike us as shrinking violets, do they?

One of Aisleyne's first tweets suggested she was feeling some "Big Brother deja-vu" about the contestants living together, though the accommodation was clearly much more luxurious than the BB house! And indeed some of the press comment DID refer to the contestants as "housemates".

We were also amused by some Twitter banter between Aisleyne and Calum Best, mostly about each others feet - we must say we rather preferred the insult-trading to the mutual admiration. And some of the treatments they had to deliver (and in some cases receive?) suggest there could be some hilarious if alarming viewing in prospect.

We also caught an early glimpse or two of the contestants' uniforms, and Aisleyne certainly looked the part in her turquoise top, white trousers and white ballet shoes. On several occassions, the paparazzi managed to find out where filming was taking place and grabbed some snaps of the contestants at work.

Perhaps the most revealing clues about the programme's look and feel came on 12th April when TV3's morning programme 'Ireland AM' had a fashion item about M&S swimwear, in which the six models had each been given a tanning treatment by one of the contestants. There was a brief clip of the application process, including a couple of glimpses of Aisleyne in action. She had somehow bagged the only male model, though we reckon that meant she had more surface area to cover! Her work did, however, get approving comments from fashion expert Lisa Fitzpatrick.

The team did of course also appear together at the launch of Harry's Bar (see separate report).

The series starts on June 6th, though we are sure that publicity - news, teasers, previews etc - will start to emerge a couple of weeks beforehand. There was a recent cryptic tweet from the makers to the contestants about a promotional photoshoot they did, which suggests that preparation are well in hand. We can hardly wait, and of course any news or gossip will be posted on this website. So stay tuned....
