| Aisleyne's off to the Emerald Isle for a couple of weeks!
She is going to be one of the six celebrities on the new series of hit programme "Celebrity Salon" which will be shown on Ireland's TV3 channel.
Plenty more details to follow, but for starters read this news item:
http://www.herald.ie/entertainment/around-town/georgias-ready-to-gi...
As the article says:
Due to start shooting shortly, the series is expected to be one of the highlights of TV3's spring schedule given its high-profile participants
So it is, to be sure, to be sure..... |

Location: Scottish Borders | Well Aisleyne will certainly enjoy that. And she'll love working in Ireland.
I see you can watch the station on their website, so hopefully we'll be able to catch her on the show? I just hope she doesn't go overboard using her 'Irish' accent. |

| This year's series follows and builds on last year's, which was the first and a big ratings success. Showings will start, as last year, on Ireland's June Bank Holiday which this year is Monday 6th June. Last year it was shown at 9pm Mondays and Wednesdays. Because of its success this year's show has a bigger budget, better known celebs, who will be running their own salons.
And programme makers Straywave are looking for members of the public to receive (and judge! ) treatments given by the celebs. Fancy a trip to Ireland for some hands-on TLC from Aisleyne?

So it would seem, empty - recording for couple of weeks in April, broadcast from from 6th June. |

so true, I remember that really well. Mainly because my partner was fascinated in watching make up being put on someone for 2 hours. No offence to Ash as she did a great job, but that was 2 hours of my life I never got back |

| According to the Irish Times, they've found a nice place for Aisleyne et al to live for the next two weeks:
The people responsible for TV3’s Celebrity Salon have been hunting for a suitable house for its second series. The production company, Straywave – the people behind Fade Street and Young, Dumb and Living off Mum – has been on the lookout for a property big enough to sleep the six contestants and endowed with reality-TV staples such as a swimming pool, hot tub, pool room, movie room and gym, where they can film their salon stars off duty.
It has just done a deal through Photo Locations – a new website that features numerous boom-era homes – to use a north Co Dublin house with all of the above facilities. The deal is worth around €2,000 a week to the owners.

Sounds a good deal more luxurious than the BB house ever was! |

Begorrah, I reckon Mr Foley didn't just kiss the blarney stone, he bit a chunk off and swallowed it, so he did. Nice of him to let his guest at least get the occasional syllable into the conversation, to be sure. |

Aisleyne - no introduction needed! But if you want one - Big Brother contestant, actress in Anuvahood and author of 'Aisleyne: Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour'
Calum Best - US born son of footy legend George Best. Celebrity Love Island winner (2006).
Abi Titmuss - onetime girlfriend of John Leslie and Lee Sharpe. Another Love Island contestant . Now an award-winning actress.
Georgia Salpa - Bikini model
Rosanna Davison - model and former Miss world (2003). Yes, and daughter of Chris 'Lady In Red' De Burgh
Alan Hughes - TV3 presenter

Hmmm, rather a high babe-quotient there, innit? It looks like TV3 are hoping to boost their audience figures by providing "something for the gentlemen" to gaze at while their womenfolk enjoy all the beauty treatment goings-on. Mr Best must think all his Christmasses have come at once, especially as Mr Hughes is otherwise-oriented. So he (Alan H) and gay-icon Aisleyne should presumably get on like a house on fire while Calum had perhaps better know himself. |

I'm sure the photo agency archives would show that they must have attended many of the same VIP events, parties etc over the years.
Of course Calum, along with Bianca Gascoigne, won the last "Love Island" in 2006, which was killed off by Aisleyne &Co in BB7. AND nowadays it's Bianca and Aisleyne who are the ones caught snogging by the paps Funny old world, innit? |

|
|
| A couple of rather cryptic tweets suggest that Aisleyne has had a lot of fun today, some of it seeming to concern Mr Best who Aisleyne says has been "a trooper" (I think she means "trouper" )
Some tweeters have leapt to conclusions about what may (or may not! ) have transpired. |

Ostensibly, Julian. However, looking at the respective current followings .....
Aisleyne 24,935
Calum 48,229
Georgia 4,386
Celeb Salon 404
....it seems to me that it's Celeb Salon who have most to gain from any exchange of followers! |

| From the Irish TV Guide for Monday 6th June 9.30pm to 10.30pm "Celebrity Salon"
Sounds highly entertaining!
In the first episode of the series, we see our brand new team of celebrities, Rosanna Davison, Calum Best, Georgia Salpa, Abi Titmuss, Alan Hughes and former Big Brother contestant Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, mentored and trained in a new skill as they compete to impress their mentor and a series of expert judges. Their first task of the series is waxing! Our celebrities are extremely surprised to be thrown in at the deep when they are given the task of running a waxing salon for the day where they will have to wax anything from legs to bottoms! For their second task the celebs are given the artistic challenge of vajazzling! Rosanna receives some sad news from home. And to top it all off there's a new home to move into where things start to heat up between certain celebs!

Trying to fathom what's going on via #celebritysalon is a bit random innit?
I gather that Aisleyne excelled herself regarding the meaning of "Hedonism" and someone called "Jason Flatley" |

It seems some people want to adopt her and give her her own show. Meanwhile, #celebritysalon and #celebsalon were top trending topics in Ireland and 'Alan Hughes' is still trending. Looks like Alan and Ash were the funniest. Not sure if they were the best beauticians though.... |

| An amusing little synopsis on Entertainment.ie about tonight's episode.
I think they're a little harsh about some of the contestants being "banal", but they're spot on about Aisleyne being a wind-up merchant!
Love the "Ashaaaleeeeeeene" reference too.

| Interesting review of the first episode on the RTE blog by someone called Laura Delaney, whoever SHE is
She's a little sniffy about Aisleyne at times, but the last paragraph suggests who she believes provides the most reason to stick with the show.

Peak viewing at over 3/4 million for episode 1? Sounds excellent for Ireland (pop: 5m?)

Story about Abi Titmuss but also a bit at the end about Ash planning 'a six month stay in Dublin' to 'build her brand'..... interesting.

| Here's a view on last night's show in the blog of Coogan Bergin, the training school where the contestants did their training. They devote quite a bit of it to Aisleyne's trials and tribulations on the "theory" and practice of waxing.

Is it wrong that I've got a bit of a crush on the headmistress? |

| Tonight's episode is now online for viewing on the TV3 website.
From the tweets I've seen from people watching the broadcast it seems that Aisleyne has excels herself tonight - from the entertainment perspective at least, if not QUITE so much in the skilled professional beautician sense!
http://www.tv3.ie/videos.php?locID=1.65.514
I have to say from what I've seen so far if you'd forgotten just why you loved watching Aisleyne on TV in the first place then watching this show will SO remind you. Her ability to make you laugh, cry and cringe in the space of two minutes is just unique.
No better illustrated than in the last episode when she spoke so touchingly about her mum and immediately then asked Alan Hughes what MUST be the MOST mind-boggling question he's EVER been asked on TV! |

| I must say this show takes a very relaxed approach to product placement, not to mention blatant 'product plugging' so tonight, Ash had her 'go' to remind everyone of her autobiography. Available in all good bookshops....
I also didn't think it would be long before Ash had to take some 'time out' after 'slightly overdoing it' the night before... |

| Aisleyne was salon manageress for the day but rather blotted her copybook by cat-napping on the job :-(
However she managed to broadcast her twitter address and has collected about 700 new followers as a result :-)

Answer to my own question: Alan has played a panto character known as 'Sammy Sausages' for many years, hence the reference!

Location: Edgware, Middlesex | I haven't seen yesterday's episode yet but something puzzled me in the episode before.
Calum was talking about how he misjudged Aisleyne on the first day thinking she was going to be really domineering and loud but that he later discovered it was not the case.
The thing is, in the interview she did with Abi they were saying that she'd known Calum for years |

Ooh! Perhaps another Bridesmaid role eh?
Looks possible. Though it raises a question in my mind. Given that the happy couple on this occasion are Alan and Karl, this is a wedding without a bride. So can you technically call someone a "bridesmaid"?
"Groomsmaid" perhaps?
Would someone more up-to-date with 21st Century Wedding Etiquette kindly enlighten me? Thanks |

| Footnote:
As you are probably aware Aisleyne and Georgia have continued and developed the friendship they struck up on CS2.
This week's Irish Sunday Independent's "Life" Section contained an extended interview with Georgia (with lots of pics of course) profiling her growing profile beyond the Emerald Isle over the last year or so.
The article concludes with an interesting insight into an important input Georgia received in plotting her rise and rise...
Maybe it’s the confidence born of always being the prettiest girl, to whom things come easily, but Georgia never seems desperate for career advancement. If anything, she was viewing the whole thing in sensible business terms. She had become friendly with Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, Amy Winehouse’s best friend, while filming Celebrity Salon, and she was advising Georgia on launching herself in Britain. The cornerstone of the plan appeared to be that reality-tv appearances would up the fees paid for bikini shoots.
She’s nailed that one. And now, according to FHM, she is the fifth sexiest woman in the world. So who knows what could be next for this sweet, easygoing Greek-irish girl, who might just take over the world?
Smart cookie, our Aisleyne, innit? |
