As announced, Aisleyne has turned down a place on Ultimate Big Brother because she will be spending much of the next few weeks filming her role in the major new urban comedy Anuvahood.

| Adam Deacon, the writer and director, you may remember was 'Space' in Dead Set. Ash bit a chunk out of him in the final scenes. Jaime Winstone was also in that series of course, as the heroine. Ash is in good company - wicked cast! |

Oh yes of course! D'ye think she threatened to bite him again if he didn't give her the part? |

Good to hear he made a full recovery. Fantastic news about the film. They must have been impressed with Ash on Dead Set. |

| Aisleyne is likely to be attending script meetings and wardrobe fittings at the end of this week as the film is nearing the end of the pre-production phase. From next week (after Bank Holiday) she will be on set to start shooting her scenes! It is believed most of next week will be taken up with shooting scenes with Aisleyne's character 'Maria' in them. The filming will go on for a total of four weeks so Aisleyne is likely to be filming on and off up until then.
For more specific updates on the progress of filming, I suggest following Ash on twitter: http://www.twitter.com/Aisleyne1
|
|
|
|
| Here's Aisleyne's schedule for the week ahead
Thursday and Friday - final script conference, rehearsals, camera tests, costume fittings and the like.
Saturday - Monday - free (weekend and bank holiday)
Tuesday and Wednesday - filming - Tuesday morning pick-up 6am (provisional)
Plus: Anuvahood's IMDb page has been updated and now includes Aisleyne in the cast list as "Maria":
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1658797/
|
|
|
|
| Just a word about the IMDb entry.
As Anuvahood is still "in pre-production" much of the information is subject to change. In particular the credits aren't yet sorted into order and the current order doesn't necessarily relate to the size of the part.
For example 'Tyrone' about 6 below Aisleyne on listing is actually the third lead character and a bit part 'shopkeeper' is several places above her. Aisleyne's part is about the same size as Jaime Winstone's. |

| Article on Heatworld looking forward to seeing Anuvahood.
Though as usual they can't get it right, referring to a "cameo" appearance by "a former Big Brother housemate" (unnamed). It clearly pains them that Aisleyne is doing so well.

Some more big names recently added to the cast - Doon Mackichan (Smack the Pony) and Linda Robson (Birds of a Feather). It's a BIG cast in more ways than one.

| I hear that Aisleyne is going to O2 tonight with her new friend and fellow actress on Anuvahood, Jocelyn Jee Esien, plus another of the three non-blondes as VIP guests to watch Eddie Kadi.
Aisleyne is looking forward to meeting Eddie as, by strange coincidence, he will also be appearing in the movie that Aisleyne is due to shoot in October.
And it seems he's also due to make a brief appearance in Anuvahood too:

On 28th September, Aisleyne will be shooting the poster for ANUVaHOOD.
Aisleyne's trip to the Singapore GP and her Lara Croft shoot in Bali mean that Aisleyne won't be able to take part in this poster shoot on Tuesday.
She will also have to miss the ANUVaHOOD Wrap Party on Wednesday 29th.
They will now be using a body double stand-in for the Tuesday shoot. Following a return journey of over 19 hours, Aisleyne is due back in UK on Thursday. After overnight to recover, she will be in the studio on Friday to be photographed separately as her character Maria for the poster and publicity material. Her image will then be inserted into position in the material shot at the Tuesday.
Phew! |

| So, have you downloaded the Anuvahood app yet?
The people behind the film are creating quite a stir with their innovative use of social media to promote "Anuvahood" to their youthful target audience**.
** which clearly doesn't include me as I am neither youthful , nor do I have an iPhone, BB or Android
According to the trade press:
U.K. indie distributor Revolver is pushing traditional boundaries for its rollout of "Anuvahood," a British urban comedy movie, by launching its own cellphone app across the three main platforms, iPhone, Android and Blackberry.
The app has five sections, two of which (Trailer and Twitter) have already been seen (the trailer now clocking 300,000 views!). The other three sections include a Quiz (How Gangsta r u?'), Cinemas (to locate where the film will be showing) and Soundz. The last consists of sound bites from the film by 10 of the leading characters - including three quotes from "Maria" .
Get your app from the official Anuvahood website here - click where Tyrone says "Get the app!":

| There's an interview (incl pics) with Aisleyne in the iCandy online magazine in which she talks about her role as Maria, starting with how she "gets stuck into a full on sex scene from the minute she’s on screen!"
Really interesting and revealing interview, especially relating to the film's Mike Tyson references, which she explains were already in the script BEFORE she auditioned for the part.

| Putting together a few disparate strands of evidence, my imagination is starting to work overtime. Consider:

I had to close my eyes at one point!
2. This "Itchy Nottingham" (?) review of Anuvahood

Tells us that Tyrone:
has some of the most disgusting, slobbery sex we have ever seen. Seriously: when the ketchup comes out, we recommend you close your eyes.
3. Aisleyne, Richard Blackwood and the Reggae Reggae sauce in the video.
4. Aisleyne's modified "Know yourself" voiceclip in the Anuvahood app.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? |

Eeek! and double eeek!
AND: here's another interview with Adam Deacon, which concludes with further hair-raising remarks about "the ketchup stuff"
http://www.flicksandbits.com/2011/03/17/adam-deacon-interview-for-h...
AND: here are some audience reactions from a rather unlikely source, namely the moneysavingexpert.com forum. Eh? I hear you say. Well, these are people who are always looking to save money, and the relevant thread is about free cinema tickets (preview showings etc). So they are possibly not exactly the target demographic for Anuvahood audiences, as shown by some of the comments ("needing subtitles" etc).
Anyway, relevant comments:
Re the film. My DS loved it, and there were lots of laugh out loud moments if you could overcome the language barrier.
The whole screening were cringing and squirming ..... not least with the Tomato Ketchup scene......
Somehow sausages and ketchup will never be the same
A 2011 version of Ali G?
That scene definitely sticks in the mind, my hubby says he never wants tomato sauce again, lol!
me too... it's too shocking... i don't think i can eat ketchup for a while now... euw...
BTW: If you're planning on seeing Anuvahood (or any other current film) at an Odeon theatre, the thread also has a link to get 40% off vouchers for non-Friday/Saturday showings in March.

| Adam Deacon and Jocelyn Jee Esien were guests on Trevor Nelson's BBC R1X show this morning, talking about Anuvahood.
Among the things they talked about was the spoof element, and how cast-members were often "taking the P." out of themselves. Trevor N specifically mentioned Aisleyne and referred - "without wanting to give away too much" ie no mention of ketchup - to her self-parody of her "know yourself" persona. |

| Well I've seen Anuvahood - and I can confirm that Aisleyne fills the big screen MOST impressively!
Her screen time may not be extensive, but it's CERTAINLY memorable!
I was interested to note that in the opening credits she is listed simply as "Aisleyne".

| This Louboutin blog tracks and records stars/fashion icons/etc wearing Louboutin shoes. They have noted that Aisleyne was wearing "Dorit" (with her own modification!) with a Versace dress.

| Encouraging indications that Anuvahood is a hit where it matters - with its audience!
From weekend release box office figures tweeted by Charle Gant, Film editor of Heat magazine
http://twitter.com/#!/charlesgant
1. The Lincoln Lawyer £571k.
2. Chalet Girl £549k.
3. Anuvahood with £537k, but only 149 screens, SO BEST SCREEN AVERAGE . As Gant says - "Audience came out for it"
4. A Turtle's Tale "poor" £323k from 379 screens
5. Submarine £219k from 60 screens
Remember - it's bums on seats not old fart critics that REALLY matter.
Must be a lot of cinemas kicking themselves that their takings "turned turtle" when they could have known "bigger tings". |

Hey, that's not bad at all, is it?
Pretty darn good, I'd say.
An increase in sales of Fruit-tellas would also be an indicator, I guess.
Though if sales of ketchup rise as well I wouldn't be quite sure what to think .... |

| Some interesting background to the music video shoot on this blog by one of the cameramen.
The slomo capture camera was a Phantom flex
The man that Aisleyne "dashes with water" was producer Paul Van Carter
There's an "slight" mistake in the caption to the last pic - it should of course read "godson"!

There's an interview (incl pics ) with Aisleyne in the iCandy online magazine in which she talks about her role as Maria, starting with how she "gets stuck into a full on sex scene from the minute she’s on screen!"
Really interesting and revealing interview, especially relating to the film's Mike Tyson references, which she explains were already in the script BEFORE she auditioned for the part.
http://www.icandy-mag.com/the-girls-from-anuvahood-aisleyne-horgan-...
The next interview in the iCandy series is with Carmell Roche who plays Kesha in the scene involving Jaime Winstone, and where you can also spot Maria/Aisleyne in rollers (I suspect this may be where "nice girl Maria" dialogue got cut). Several mentions of Aisleyne in this interview, including THE Tyrone scene.

For those who like to mull over statistics, there's plenty to analyse in this breakdown of the last week's cinema box office.

Basically, where Anuvahood has done well (ie round Lahndon) it has done very VERY well.
Where it hasn't (eg Scotland and North-East) I'd suggest subtitles - YA GET ME? |

| Anuvahood is undoubtedly a box-office hit, having recouped its shooting budget within a couple of days of opening. It will now be showing in 35 more cinemas, and I've seen tweeted reports of people watching it multiple times, and of people being turned away from full houses. It seems to be acquiring cult status eg "hype hype ting" "Wagwan Mumsie"and Fruit-tellas. The trailer has hit one million views on Youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPsQBNxt-Y8
I imagine also (but have no statistics) that McDonalds may have noticed an increase in demand for extra sachets of ketchup. |

The overall take is down on last week, but total take must now be well over £1m, as these figures only cover weekends (Fri-Sun)

Yes that was part of last months article when they interviewed to the four girls. There are some more pics of Aisleyne in this latest edition, including a "pugilistic" one with Miss Jocelyn . |

|
| Anuvahood is again (3rd week) in the Weekend Box Office Top 10 at No 9. This is despite another three big new entries by movies with megabudgets 100X what Anuvahood was made for (around half a million £) It has made about £1.6m so far so should be around the £2m mark when its cinema run winds up this week.
Next stop DVD - now on advance notice on Amazon for July release. And Adam Deacon has just tweeted that he is about to start on his "Director's Cut" which he says should have another 25-30 mins of footage. So we MIGHT get to see "nice girl Maria" as well as "Superfreak Maria" after all! *Hint hint Mr Deacon* |
