Location: Stoke-on-Trent | Aisleyne will be filming on location for the new series of Screenwipe. Filming takes place on Monday 8th October on a London housing estate with Charlie playing a Hoodie and Aisleyne playing his girlfriend.
It is most likely to be broadcast on Tuesday 16th October at 10pm on BBC4. |
|
|
|
| YESS!
Will Aisleyne have to "hug a hoodie" then?
Better dig up that old pic of Richard Madeley! |

That sounds like more of a stretch for Charlie than Aisleyne |

I must confess to the same wicked thought, secret.
This involves a temporary return to ghetto-chic for Ash, I guess. Perhaps some of those very early pics in her biography gallery might provide Wardrobe with some inspiration...
D'ye think they'll try and work an Argos tent into the sketch somehow? |

Could be a perfect vehicle for her bid to get a part in EastEnders, though ....
.... 'specially if they fix the script so she gets to say "'Ere, woss goin' on? " |

| The good old Guardian gives a bit of a clue to this week's Screenwipe content. Charlie has a go at Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and turns the spotlight on 'yoof TV', which is 'filled with comic potential' they say. This might be where the 'hoodie' sketch comes in? Should be a good watch, anyway!

| I thought the best non-Aisleyne part of the programme was Charlie's review of "the Tudors".
In particular, I thought that his summation of Catherine of Aragon as a "Spanish MILF" ranks as "history in a nutshell" alongside Bill and Ted's description of Napoleon as a "short dead dude" |

| Watching those video clips again a couple of times, it seems to me that Aisleyne shows real comic timing and talent there. I don't know how much was down to her own instinct and how much to her response to good direction, but however it came about the result was quite awesome - and unnervingly authentic! That "Chav-leyne" character is a gem, and I hope we see and hear more from her.
My mind keeps returning to Paul Flynn's description in the Guardian during BB7 - "the formidable and potentially fantastic Aisleyne". How right he was!

| I hope Charlie's not facing the chop in the latest round of BBC job cuts. I have heard that BBC4 programmes are a potential target. The two of them make a good double act, all the more so because few would expect them to get on so well. Of course, it could all be in the editing for all we know. |

| Screenwipe "with added Chavleyne" returns to BBC4 and airs on BBC2.
The second series of Screenwipe is currently being repeated on BBC4 on Fridays. By my reckoning Aisleyne is in the 4th programme in a series of 5, This week is billed as 2/5 ie the "credit squeeze" edition, which should mean the yoof one - with added "Chavleyne" - will be aired on Friday November23rd.
And there's more!
It also seems that the second series is also going to be shown IN FULL on BBC2 at on Wednesdays starting on November 14th. That would put Aisleyne on again on December 5th.
Please correct me if I've mis-calculated.

| What a nice way to wind up a pret-ty impressive week, eh?
The listings contain the following:
11:00 pm Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe
Charlie Brooker takes an irreverent look at all aspects of life on the small screen, including youth TV. Some strong language and some sexual content. [S]
Now then, does the "sexual content" warning relate to the nuddy bits from the Tudors contained in the programme or Aisleyne's closing credits dance?
Watch and decide! |

It looks like the BBC2 showing might be sooner than we thought for some reason, The BBC2 schedule for THIS COMING WEDNESDAY 28th November gives the Screenwipe details as the "yoof" edition ie the one with Ash.
The TV supplement with yesterday's Daily Mail suggests the same, though that also talks about it including a Tara P-T programme.

There's been such a stream of guests over the last couple of days it might be difficult to attribute any "influx" to the programme. And for the "casual" viewer she is far less identifiable this time. |
