As those of you who follow @Aisleyne1 on Twitter will already be aware, late last week Aisleyne was shocked to hear that her mother Sophia had died.

You are also doubtless aware of the estrangement between them, and how Aisleyne felt about that, so we can only imagine how she has felt since hearing the news.

The Irish Sun has picked up on Aisleyne's tweets and is running this story this morning:

I'm sure that all who post on or visit this site would join me in sending our condolences and thoughts to Aisleyne at this sad time, and Aisleyne herself has thanked her followers and fans for the messages of sympathy and support she has received. It appears that Bianca Gascoigne and Mo George have been sources of comfort, and I noticed this morning that Rachel Rice had tweeted a message for Aisleyne.

It's a very sad situation, but I'm encouraged that Aisleyne has had her friends around her.
Needless to say, I'm thinking of Aisleyne every day, and send my deepest sympathy.

I picked up Ash's book to read again after hearing the terrible news. It's a great shame that there appeared to be no reconciliation between Ash and her mum..... I remember hoping way back when BB7 ended that they'd get to sort out their issues but alas it seems this never happened. However it is encouraging to read of such great support for Ash from her close friends at such a difficult time for her and her family. RIP Sophia

Sorry to hear of your loss. Not much I can say other than time is a healer.

The Irish Daily Star has a news story about Georgia Salpa that includes reference to her tweet to Aisleyne, showing concern that she wasn't answering her phone - http://starplus.ie/gossip/its-a-rap-for-georgia-salpa/8070/

A rather "creative" weaving together of tweets there

But as a happier little footnote to the above, a recent tweet from Ms Salpa:

and Aisleyne's reponse
